FULL MOON OF MARCH—-SPRING LANTERN FESTIVAL IN CHINA

FULL MOON OF MARCH—-SPRING LANTERN FESTIVAL IN CHINA

The full moon is on the 5th March.
Spring Lantern festival on that day is the last of the celebrations welcoming in the new year energy, year of the goat/sheep/ram.
It is a day for enjoying and celebrating the first full moon of the new year.
A time of parties, of family gatherings.
People watch the Lion Dance and stilt-walking performances…….during the Lantern Festival, children go out as the sun sets, carrying red paper lanterns and play games, solving riddles. It is a time of new freindships, when boys and girls mix freely, a kind of Chinese Valentine’s Day.
It is also known as Yuanxiao Festival, because everyone eats yuanxiao—a small round rice ball, whose shape suggests the full moon. The rice balls are stuffed with fillings such as sugar, rose petals, sesame, sweetened bean paste, the rice balls can be boiled, fried or steamed.
Red, fiery bright red, placed in the South of your home, is a symbol of new connections with the outside world, enhancing your attraction, a kind of ‘come and get me, I am brilliant’ flag.
The goat year energy, with the big full moon, lifts and becomes very positive….lighting the way forward, progress and movement are needed, decisions can now be taken…….all good things.
