the full moon of February is the start, only a start mind you, to the positive creativeness of monkey year!
To the Cherokee, it is the Bony Moon, the quickening moon, the ‘stirring of insects’ in Taoism, when the energies of the new year begin to lift and support.
It is the time when ‘people grow lean’, a Bony Moon, the moon of the little famine.
The Dakota Sioux call this the time when ‘the trees pop’,,,,,,, ahead lies Spring, flowers, leaves, blossoms, but out on the wild plains……it can still get so cold that the moisture inside the bark of trees expand, burst, ‘pop’.
Soon is the time of adventures and expansion.
Create new ways=give gratitude for what you already have, wish for what you would like to have.
Feng shui sectors, load the southeast with evergreen shrubs, the south with reds and yellows, the west with white, cream, and especially–bronze/copper/brass.
All these symbolic colours bring a zing……the start of a new time, a time to take a chance, to have an adventure….May, June, July, but plan carefully now!
Ritual water bathing as a sign of newness and purification is good! A stream, a river, a lake……freshwater rather than salt….waterfalls are especially powerful…be near them, feel the energy rise.
Showers rather than baths, empty away the negative, the stagnant, load on board the newness, the positive.
Soon, a time for decisions and new pathways. Let negativity be washed away……rise on the ripples of new ways, new days…..walk in the rain, climb a hill, watch dawns and sunsets. Creative monkey energy is with us!
